Settings & Shortcuts

Where theme, account, and server options live, and the one shortcut worth knowing day to day.

Theme

Switch between Light, Dark, and System from the sun/moon icon in the header — it's available on both the dashboard and the popup.

Settings dialog

Open Settings from the gear icon on the workspace rail. It's organized into three tabs:

  • General: toggle the Global Search Overlay (the same optional permission covered in Browser Permissions), and start a bookmark import from another extension or your browser's own bookmarks.
  • Plan & Quotas: usage bars for workspaces, bookmarks, collections, tags, and saved groups against your current plan's limits.
  • Account: your account email and member-since date, plus account deletion — deleting requires your password, and can be cancelled any time before it takes effect simply by logging back in.

Compact group titles are set per group rather than as a single global switch — toggle Compact on the group itself. See Tabs & Chrome Groups and Saved Groups.

Server URL

The server your account syncs against isn't set in Settings — it's an advanced, optional field on the login/register screen, for pointing TabSlate at a self-hosted TabSlate server instead of the default one. Leave it blank to use the default.

Keyboard shortcuts

The global search overlay's shortcut — Ctrl+Shift+K (Command+Shift+K on macOS) — is the one most worth knowing day to day; see Search for what it opens and where. See Keyboard Shortcuts for the full reference, including the keys that work inside search results.
